When was the Battle of Agincourt fought?
Correct Answer: 1415
The Battle of Agincourt was fought on 25 October 1415 during the Hundred Years' War between England and France. King Henry V led a heavily outnumbered English and Welsh army to a decisive victory over a much larger French force.
The English victory is largely attributed to the devastatingly effective use of the English longbow. The battle is celebrated in Shakespeare's play Henry V — particularly the famous "St Crispin's Day" speech. Agincourt established Henry V as one of England's greatest warrior-kings, and he subsequently became heir to the French throne through the Treaty of Troyes (1420).
