Under which Act was the Kingdom of Great Britain created?
Correct Answer: The Act of Union
The Kingdom of Great Britain was created by the Act of Union in 1707, which united the Kingdom of England and the Kingdom of Scotland into a single kingdom with a single Parliament at Westminster.
Prior to this, England and Scotland had shared the same monarch since 1603 (when James VI of Scotland became James I of England) but remained separate kingdoms with separate parliaments. The Act of Union merged them politically and legislatively.
A later Act of Union in 1800 united Great Britain with the Kingdom of Ireland to create the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (the precursor to the modern United Kingdom).
