Which one of the following did the Chartists NOT campaign for?
Correct Answer: Elections every six years
The Chartists were a 19th-century reform movement who demanded greater democratic rights for ordinary people.
Their campaigns included: every man having the vote, elections every year (not every six), equal electoral regions, secret ballots, any man being able to stand as an MP, and MPs being paid.
They did not campaign for elections every six years — they wanted them annually, to keep politicians accountable.
