When is the electoral register updated?
Correct Answer: September or October
The electoral register is updated every year in October or November.
Local councils run an annual canvass asking every household to provide details of all eligible voters. The updated register takes effect for elections the following year.
You can also register to vote at any time of year via GOV.UK — it takes about 5 minutes online. You must be registered to be able to vote.
