What is the minimum age required for a citizen to stand for public office?
Correct Answer: 18
The minimum age to stand for public office in the UK is 18 years old.
This is the same age as the minimum voting age for most elections. You must be a British citizen (or an eligible Commonwealth or Irish citizen) and be registered to vote in the constituency where you wish to stand.
There are some exceptions — certain positions have higher age requirements.
