Life in the UK Test 38

Which of the following territories is not part of the UK?
Correct Answer: The Isle of Man
The Isle of Man is not part of the United Kingdom. It is a Crown Dependency — a self-governing territory with its own parliament, laws and tax system. The British Crown is responsible for its defence and international relations, but the Isle of Man is not represented in the UK Parliament.
The UK consists of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The other Crown Dependencies are Jersey and Guernsey (the Channel Islands). Crown Dependencies should not be confused with British Overseas Territories, which are also separate from the UK.
