Which of the following statements is TRUE?
Correct Answer: A jury is made up of members of the public chosen at random from the local electoral register
In the UK, a jury is made up of 12 members of the public who are chosen at random from the local electoral register.
Jury service is a civic duty — people selected are legally required to serve unless they have a valid reason to be excused.
You cannot volunteer to be on a jury. Juries are responsible for deciding whether a defendant in a Crown Court trial is guilty or not guilty. In Scotland, juries have 15 members.
