When were the Houses of Parliament built?
Correct Answer: In the 19th century
The current Houses of Parliament (the Palace of Westminster) were built in the 19th century after the old palace was largely destroyed by fire in 1834.
The new building was designed in Gothic Revival style by Charles Barry and Augustus Pugin, and completed in stages between 1840–1870.
